Did not Listen/Dropped Without Warning, Part One
I came to Dr. Guess in September 2021. I don't recall much from that visit except that I was not a candidate for surgery, that my obesity is the reason I'm in so much pain, and if I lose some weight I would feel better. I told him that my chronic pain prevents me from doing any exercise to lose the weight and I need his help to stop all of the pressure that is pressing on my lumbar spine. He suggested a spinal chord stimulator, and I said okay to that. The SCS trial went wonderful I felt 75 pain free and could enjoy life again. Then they took the trial stimulator out of me and scheduled me to come back in three weeks for permanent placement. The permanent placement was placed differently in my spine and the battery pack was placed on my right side instead of the left side with leads going in a S shape up my spine. I told him two months later that my pain relief was 35%, which feels like 0% to me because I was back in the same debilitating pain condition I was in before. He tol

I highly recommend Dr. James Guess. He skillfully fused me at L4-L5 four years ago. My spouse and I were so impressed with his surgical skill, my husband asked Dr. Guess to do his L5-S1 the next year. We both highly recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Guess recommended a spinal cord implant made by Neuvectra. The trial run failed and he should have stopped there. I questioned him before the final implant that I had read the chairman of Neuve ctra has stepped down and feared they were going bankrupt and he and the pharma rep told me that was not going to happen and if it did they would take care of me and they lied about the warranty. After the final implant...Neuvectra went bankrupt so I am stuck with this item in my back. Thank you Dr Guess I hope you are happy with your surgery fee and your rep for his commission.

Dr. Guess performed an L3-L5 fusion with laminectomy & discectomy in late 2016; I continue follow-ups with him but I have been pain-free and have returned to lifting free weights and cardio exercise. Prior to surgery I spent a month in the supine position, on oxy. Dr. G basically saved my bacon.

Dr. Guess is my answered prayer. I’ve been suffering with low back pain for several months. I saw two other doctors who couldn’t help. My first visit with Dr. Guess, he had a plan. I asked Dr. Guess if I would have to live with my pain. He told me that he would find my pain source. I’m scheduled to have a block next week. If you’re looking for a doctor who cares, Dr. Guess is the doctor for you.

Dr Guess is so personable and laid back, and so knowledgeable! He and his staff are wonderful! They are very organized. I went to the Carrollton location. I have a very difficult work schedule and they went above and beyond, working me into a very busy schedule to get my MRI and then come back to see Dr Guess, all on the same day! I am a surgery scheduler for a very busy office myself and know how difficult this is. I greatly appreciate the effort to accommodate me.

It's been over 10 years and the procedure (disc nucleoplasty) that the good Dr. performed on my can be considered a cure. His team was top-notch and the care and consulting I received was the same. MJR
