Dr. Goolsby graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where he also completed a medicine internship and residency. He performed a cardiology fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and remained on the faculty as assistant professor of medicine and director of Denver General Hospital's cardiac catheterization laboratory. Dr. Goolsby went on to practice general and interventional cardiology in Austin, Texas, for 27 years. He was director of the Seton Central Texas Heart Institute and founder of the Heart Hospital of Austin. He was also president of AustinHeart—a private practice cardiology group with over 30 physicians. Dr. Goolsby is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology. His current interests are outpatient and preventive cardiology.
