I was expected to be know what cataract surgery was. I don't. I was expected to know what surgery was for astigmatism. I don't. I felt railroaded into accepting surgery for both. This was supposed to be a consultation. I had hoped my eye condition would have been explained to me. It wasn't. I had hoped the surgical procedure to correct my condition would have been explained to me. It was explained in a most cursory fashion. The doctor popped in and out like a magic show.

Dr left room so quickly, saw him about total of 7 minutes. I had couple questions, he never even asked if I had any. The assistant really didn't want to since Dr said those were not for me and I had no idea why

With so many patients to see, you feel a little pressed to explain your symptoms. I would of liked to have known in comparison to most cataract surgeries if the problem I was having was normal and why the suggested fix would correct it, and what the odds are that the suggested fix would take care of the problem. As Dr Gills was leaving the room I asked if this happens to other people and he said," All the time." Also, he did not acknowledge my husband who was with me.

Dr. Gills was very thorough in his examination of my eyes and informed me that I also have a slight degree of macro degeneration which was overlooked by my previous doctor. Discussed treatment options for glaucoma as well as cataract lens. My wife's eye examination revealed several issues that will be corrected with the laser cataract surgery and proper lens implant.
