Dr. Brandes is a Native of Kenosha, Wisconsin. He graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1985. He completed his internal medicine residency and his nephrology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Brandes served on the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin as an Assistant Professor of Medicine from 1990-1995 and continues to hold a clinical professor appointment at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has received numerous awards and honors in teaching and is a past recipient of a National Institute of Health award. Dr. Brandes has spoken extensively and published topics related to dialysis and specifically to peritoneal dialysis. He currently serves as chairman of the Medical Review committee of Renal Network 11. Dr. Brandes is Medical Director of the Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Capitol and Glendale facilities. He additionally serves as Medical Director and chairs the Fresenius Medical Care's Quality Improvement Program.
