Before Dr. Auran moved to Harlem Hospital, I went to him for cataract surgery. I found his personality very glib but Harvard Medical School was his hook and I fell for it. Of course, I thought Auran would perform the surgery as he was the MD I consulted with. Also, I had a complicated issue with the eye and it never occurred to me that he would not perform the surgery. For whatever reason, Auran had a resident perform my surgery. A child practicing on me. The eye has never been right.

Dr. Auran is an exceptional doctor and person. I had a very difficult corneal erosion issue -- one of the tougher problems to treat -- and his patience and expertise got me through. He is kind, patient, brilliant, and reassuring. His devotion to his patients is palpable, and he is wonderful at putting them at ease. When I'm ready for cataract surgery -- any day now -- Dr. Auran will be the one. A consummate professional and superb physician.
