Do not choose Dr. Adamo for your doctor. If you get him at Harbor Oaks do not keep him for your outpatient doctor. I wasted a year of my life with him. He did not do regular lithium levels. I became toxic and very sick. He is uncaring. He is condescending. He makes you feel like a number not a patient. Do not waste your time with this doctor. I think he is narcissistic.

Dr. Adamo is a very understanding and kind doctor. He has helped me for many years. I wouldnt be where I am today in life without the help he has given me. I would highly recommend him.
spectacular promises, incredibly underdelivered! pretty much sums it up. Wish I could leave stars blank in above question. Definitely choose someone else.

Very compassionate. Took time to listen. Very conservative about pushing drugs. Professional.

You go to see a doctor with expectations that he will help you with your ailments. WRONG! He is very rude, he treats patients like he is inferior. He abruptly rushes you out of his office and his staff are some of the rudest people I have ever met. This man needs a shrink to help him through his own issues and then maybe he would understand what mental illness is!!!
in Fraser, MI |
Has no compassion and does not take the time to talk. If you disagree he talks you down. Discharges you for no reason without a referral and will not negotiate with you for his abrupt discharge. His staff is very unprofessional and have never had a bit of care about you when they place you on hold after at least 10 minutes.

The office is a prescription mill. 5-10 minutes appointments, little discussion of what underlying issues are, just what meds might work. Reschedules appointments at the last moment. The lobby is packed as they cycle patients through to docs throughout the office.
in Warren, MI |
Unprofessional, disgraceful Dr. - 5 weeks to get an appt. Once I did, he prescribed meds that were costly (BCBS insurance). When I called to discuss with him/request alternate medication/treatment, asked for prescription be called in to Pharmacy -I got NOTHING. I played phone tag for 3+ weeks despite being assured by his staff that the message would be clearly relayed. I cancelled future appts and found a new doctor. Your doctor is not supposed to contribute to your anxiety?! He deserves a 0.
