Dr. Iyengar is a blessing
21 years ago I had shoulder surgery by a world class Surgeon who was used by the 49ers football team. That Doctor has long retired. Recently when I needed a shoulder replacement, I looked for another World Class Surgeon. I found that in Dr. Iyengar. Extremely Capable, Professional, Confident, Personable, Kind and uses cutting edge technology. Truly an Amazing Surgeon and Person.

Excellent surgeon, better person
I had a reverse shoulder replacement performed by Dr. Iyengar on 12/21/21. This was part of my process to receive a kidney transplant. Step 1 was lose weight. I went from 380 to 210 in 2 years. Losing weight also was required for the shoulder replacement. Step 2, shoulder replacement. I am now 6 months out and have about 75% use of my left arm. I had almost no use prior and was in constant pain. No more pain and almost normal use. Step 3 was gall bladder removal. Did that 3 weeks ago. Last step is loose skin removal then new kidney here I come. My goal is to have a new kidney by the end of the year. This process would not be possible without the expertise of Dr. Iyengar, but there are many skilled surgeons out there. What sets Dr. Iyengar apart is that he explains things in easy to understand terms and truly cares, his every action and word shows that. Thank you Dr. Iyengar for helping me down me path to getting my life back.

Reverse Shoulder Replacement
Dr. Iyengar replaced my shoulder in January. He is an excellent doctor, and my shoulder is doing so well. I was, of course, apprehensive because I have heard shoulder replacements are the most painful of all joint replacements. I have had a knee replacement and hip replacements so I knew what they were like. But Dr Iyengar explained what to expect on a Reverse Shoulder Replacement, and I have found my shoulder recovery has gone very well. I would highly recommend Dr. Iyengar to anyone facing shoulder replacement.

Amazing Surgeon - Skillful and Personable
I was very fortunate to have Dr. Iyengar as my surgeon after a fracture in my hip joint. During my pre-surgery consult, he listened carefully to my goals for the future, which included rigorous backpacking trips, and encouraged me to continue those activities. Even though I am a 74-year-old female, he never treated me as being less able than I saw myself and, although he was the doctor and I was the patient, he never talked down to me. Throughout the initial surgery and the subsequent recovery, I always felt as though we were a "team." I will be forever grateful to Dr. Iyengar for his exceptional skills and genuine kindness.

Intelligent and well Informed
My Visits with Dr. Iyengar have been astonishing, I much appreciate his detailed procedure and on point healing judgement. The comfort and Support was a great deal for me after almost a year of misdiagnosis from several Stockton facilities he was able to pin point and Describe my injury (Remplissage procedure) I've been More Then Pleased with his professional work and would recommend his Orthopedic Surgery Specialist 100% with anyone with a similar injury.

I injured my shoulder almost 8 years ago. I did not want to get it repaired because I did not want to give up my activities and I thought a shoulder replacement was too drastic. Dr. Iyengar did what he could with injections, but it just kept getting worse. I knew I had all the trust in the world in Dr. Iyengar so 4 months ago I went ahead with the surgery. I cannot believe how foolish I was to wait. The pain I was living with was gone and I am back to my activities with a better outlook on life because I'm not in constant pain. If you are putting it off, I highly recommend getting it done and enjoy a painless shoulder again. My thanks to Dr. Iyengar and his staff. T. Cabral

I had my first appointment with Dr. Iyengar in early Nov. After looking at x-rays and MRI of my shoulder he came to the same conclusion my primary Dr. did, I needed a shoulder replacement. Within 12 days I had all tests and preop work done and underwent replacement surgery. Everyone I dealt with was great! The entire time I felt like and was treated like some sort of an MVP. Now two months after surgery I have fully recovered, I am pain free and ready to go back to normal living. Thanks to a great Dr. and staff. I couldn't be more happy.

I came in with a ruptured tricep and was hesitant about fixing it. I was worried about being able to get back to normal weight lifting and Jiu Jitsu. Dr. Iyengar was quick to fit me into his schedule for surgery. He has a lot of experience and did an excellent job. He asked me what my desired post-op goals were and truly listened to what I wanted. I would highly recommend him if you are unsure about tricep surgery.

I was referred to Dr. Iyengar for rotator cuff surgery and he did an amazing job! Everything from pre op care all the way through my post op care. He greeted me the day of surgery, explained everything again. He referred me to physical therapy, saw me several times during therapy to ensure I was making the appropriate progress. I would highly recommend him and the surgery. It's only been 5 months and I'm already better than before my surgery. No pain, more arm strength and more range of motion.

Dr. Iyengar performed my rotator cuff repair and I couldn't be happier. Throughout my experience, he got to know me and addressed me as an "individual" rather than just another patient on his caseload. He took all my questions and concerns into consideration and weighed in my lifestyle when giving medical advice. I highly recommend Dr. Iyengar as an MD and surgeon and can't thank him enough for getting me back to the recreational lifestyle I love.

I saw Dr. Iyengar after my shoulder had been hurting for several months. Dr. Iyengar and team were able to diagnose the issue, discuss with me my options, and ultimately perform surgery based on my decision. Dr. Iyengar and team were extremely professional and I felt very comfortable going through what could be a very apprehensive experience. I was well informed what to expect during every step and all the staff I interacted with was very courteous. I'm now 12 weeks through recovery from my shoulder surgery and feeling fantastic. Though recovery from any surgery is never fun, I am glad I made this decision and I would do so again in a heartbeat. Thank you Dr. Iyengar and team!

I went to see Dr. Iyengar about a shoulder issue that was continually causing me pain. Dr. Iyengar was very attentive and immediately started to help me figure out the issue. So many doctors seem to give you the run around. He was straight to the point and helped me figure out what the real issue was causing the pain. He and his staff helped me the entire way with scheduling and making sure i was comfortable. He and his office go out of their way to make sure all is perfect. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is having issues. Don't put it off! They will take great care of you!
