Dr. Jacob McClean has extensive training in both Psychiatry and Addiction Services (Harbor-UCLA) with numerous publications in the field of Addiction Medicine (pubmed). At Global Health Specialists, our goal is to provide positive support and guidance for those with mental health and addiction disorders, which are typically life-long illnesses. There may not be a cure for most of these illnesses, we will work to improve your coping skills, self-awareness and overall happiness.
Dr. Jacob McClean is originally from a small town in North Carolina. He attended Davidson College (Davidson, NC) and graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience. From Davidson College, Dr McClean spent 4 years in graduate school (Central Michigan University/Michigan State University) where he studied neuroscience and psychopharmacology. Dr. McClean was then recognized as a member of the Davidson Scholars program which nominates one student each year to conduct research with doctors at Carolinas Medical Center (Charlotte, NC). In 2007, Dr McClean attended medical school at Touro University in Henderson, NV followed by residency years at Westchester and Larkin Hospitals (FL) as well as a year of Addiction Medicine at Harbor-UCLA under Dr. John Tsuang.
