This content was provided by Dr. Kenerly III "Dr. J. Lex Kenerly has had the honor and privilege of treating patients in his hometown and surrounding areas for more than two decades. A board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Kenerly specializes in many surgical and nonsurgical treatments of conditions related to the musculoskeletal system. He has continued his medical education extensively through certified medical education courses throughout the country and now operates one of the most state-of-the-art medical and surgical facilities in South Georgia. Dr. Kenerly brings to the table a genuine desire to offer his patients the highest level of Orthopaedic care available and feels blessed to be able to work in a Christian environment of professional medical caregivers. Dr. Kenerly began his orthopaedic surgery practice in Jesup, Georgia in 1988. He graduated from Wayne County High School in June 1974 and earned his BS degree in biochemistry from the University of Georgia in June 1978. After graduating from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in June 1982 with the M. D. degree, he spent one year at The Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia completing his internship. Dr. Kenerly was then accepted to the orthopaedic surgery residency program at the Greenville Hospital System and Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in Greenville South Carolina. He finished his residency in 1988 and that year began his practice back in his hometown of Jesup, Georgia. Dr. Kenerly is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and was one of the first orthopaedic surgeons in Georgia to take and pass the ABOS recertification exam in 1999 and again in 2009. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, a member of the Southern Medical Association, Southern Orthopaedic Association, Medical Association of Georgia, The Georgia Orthopaedic Society, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has a particular interest in conditions related to the shoulder and rotator cuff. Additionally, he has considerable expertise in shoulder and knee arthroscopy and shoulder, hip and knee arthroplasties (total joint replacement). Dr. Kenerly considers himself a student of the musculoskeletal system. He spends hours each week studying and reviewing the latest in the field of orthopaedic surgery. Additionally, he attends national and world-wide orthopaedic meetings on a regular basis to keep himself current and on the cutting edge of orthopaedic surgery. He keeps abreast of the latest techniques and technology that orthopaedic surgery has to offer and is pleased to bring this state-of-the-art orthopaedic care to his patients. Dr. Kenerly feels blessed to practice medicine in his hometown among the many friends and family members who encouraged him and supported him all his life. He attributes his success to his Christian faith and believes strongly that God is the ultimate healer."

I needed a total left knee replacement that had caused the leg to bow out. I was reluctant to have surgery on that leg due to a terrible 2011 experience with a Wayx surgeon for a femur fraction.
