If you want your Specialist to have more compassion than that of a wart hog, you'll need to look elsewhere. Otherwise, he's a good enough Neurologist.

I went to Dr. Ironside for about 5 years. In that time, he bullied me whenever possible. As long as I told him what he wanted to hear he was nice enough. If I told him something that didn't go along with his world view (I never knew what that was until after I said it.), he stopped meeting my eyes. He let me know in no uncertain terms that whatever was wrong with me had nothing to do with my diagnosed condition. I didn't realize how badly he treated me until I went to another neurologist.
Little Rock, AR |
My dad saw him in August. Was sent for a couple of test. After waiting a few weeks without hearing from him or his office regarding the results I called his office. I was told the reason we were not called with results was because the results were normal and the doctor would discuss it at our three month follow up. I reminded the nurse no one set us up for an appointment. When we went for our three month follow up Dr Ironside had not seen the test results yet

He did only what was absolutely necessary. I felt like I was a burden to him.

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
