Care Philosophy

Dr. Balat has repeatedly been named one of the top OB/GYNs in the greater Houston area. He has delivered excellent care to his patients, their families, and their friends since he started his practice in 1976. Dr. Balat graduated from UTMB medical school in Galveston in 1973 and completed his post-graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. Once he finished his residency, he started private practice in 1976 when he joined Dr. John Armstrong and Dr. Richard Weilburg. In 1998, he founded Plaza OB/GYN Associates in the museum district. His interest has been in infertility and minimally invasive surgery for the management of fibroids, endometriosis, and pelvic prolapsed. Furthermore, his goal is to work closely with an infertile couple until they can achieve their dream of having a baby. My Philosophy: The key element to a successful patient/physician relationship is to listen to the patient as she describes her symptoms. When you prepare a treatment plan, take into consideration every factor as they relate to the patient - symptoms, clinical findings, patient beliefs and personality. http://www.womens-health-obgyn.com/houston/tx/77004/isam-balat-md.html

Great Dr. very caring and knowledgeable however can't say the same about the staff.
    in Houston, TX |
Charming, soft spoken, listens when you talk! There is never a time since I have been seeing him that he made me feel like my emergency was not his emergency. Very attentive. And most of all, HE KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING AND TRULY CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS AND STAFF!

I've been a patient for almost 12 years. He delivered my daughter in 2013, & he is also the same doctor who delivered me when I was a baby!! I would recommend Dr. Balat to everyone. He is so friendly & seems to truly care about his patients.

I've been a patient 1998 so, that should tell you he is a great physician. I've had two life saving surgeries and wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for him. He listened to me as so many others didn't. I went to 5 physicians before I found him by word of mouth only drawback is the wait time around your appointment takes several hours so clear your schedule otherwise you're in good hands!

He's been my doctor for almost 17 yrs. He's always cared for my well being throughout the different phrases I've gone through. I like the fact that Dr. Balat cares, he's honest, and is was to talk to about your issues. He recently, helped to diagnose that I could possibly have type 2 diabetes and I did and ws able to address it with another related Dr. I was very thankful for his help.

Dr. Balat is a very accomplished specialist and I would recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs a thorough and concerned doctor. I would still have him as my own gynecologist but I had to change insurance carriers to KelseyCare Advantage because of my financial status. He is polite, concerned, astute, gentle and a good listener.
