This content was provided by Dr. Gladstein "It is a privilege for us to meet you and to help you become the person you?ve always envisioned yourself to be. You and the doctor will spend time talking about your wishes and desires. She will examine you and give you her opinion about how to best achieve your goals. Choosing a cosmetic surgeon is an intensely personal decision. We believe the formation of a personal bond is an integral part of the surgery and healing process. Please take couple of minutes to read the brief overview of the consultation. The success and safety of cosmetic treatment depends very much on your complete candidness during your consultation. You?ll be asked a number of questions about your health, desires and lifestyle. Be prepared to discuss: ? Why you want the procedure, your expectations and desired outcome ? Medical conditions, drug allergies and medical treatments ? Use of current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drugs ? Discuss any past treatment with fillers, Botox, any previous surgery. Dr. Gladstein may also: ? Evaluate your general health status and any pre-existing health conditions or risk factors ? Examine and measure your face ? Take photographs for your medical record ? Discuss your options and recommend a course of treatment ? Discuss likely outcomes of desired cosmetic procedure/surgery and any risks or potential complications The next step is to meet with the Cosmetic Counselor. She can show you before and after photos of actual patients from our practice. She will discuss fees and costs, and can provide information about the various financing plans available. If you have a specific date in mind, she will do her best to accommodate your schedule. If you are still in the information-gathering phase, she will try to be sure all of your questions are answered. The Cosmetic Counselor is also available for further questions at any time. Her most important role is to help you gather the information you need to make an informed decision about cosmetic plastic surgery. Anesthesia Some patients are anxious about undergoing anesthesia. Statistically, patients are at greater risk driving to the office than undergoing anesthesia! But we want you to have complete peace of mind and so we only utilize Board-Certified Anesthesiologists. Prior to surgery you will have an opportunity to meet your anesthesiologist and discuss your specific concerns and wishes with them. Follow Up Your consultation also includes an optional second visit if you have further questions for the physician, patient counselor or any member of our staff. You will be charged a small fee which could be applied toward the services or procedures should you choose to schedule one with us. Please do not hesitate to ask if this would be helpful. Certification Our operating suite, professional staff and internal procedures meet the highest standards of safety. The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) certify our operating suite. We voluntarily subject ourselves to this rigorous process so that you may be assured that your surgery is performed in a state-of-the art-operating suite that meets or exceeds national healthcare standards."
