Dr. Ingrid E. Tuxhorn, MD says

I view patients and their families as partners on the sometimes difficult road to diagnosis and cure of seizures and epilepsy.

This requires a relationship of trust, open communication, caring and setting realistic goals in a respectful partnership.

i view my role as that of an expert consultant that can give a comprehensive approach to options that available and are then implemented in collaboration with the referring family practitioner, pediatrician, internist  or neurologist.

Emergencies always need to be addressed by calling 911 and emergency room physicians. Followup  visits to reassess baseline management and other treatment options are available by calling the office to schedule appointments.

Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
