Dr. Hartstein is a Board Certified ophthalmologist with over 26 years of experience. He has performed thousands of eye surgeries and has taught surgery as an assistant professor at the Jules Stein Eye Institute- UCLA and as a glaucoma instructor at White Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Hartstein is active in research and has published in the medical literature. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the California Academy of Ophthalmology and the West Coast Glaucoma Society.Dr. Hartstein graduated cum laude from Columbia University in New York then went on to medical school at Tufts University in Boston where he graduated with honors. He performed his internship at UCI and completed a three year ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein Medical affiliates where he was the chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, one of the world's pre-eminent eye surgical training program.
