Igor Persidsky, MD, PhD is 4th generation physician and Board Certified in Internal Medicine (1996), and has been practicing in the Long Beach area since 1995, initially with several medical groups, and since 1999 he has been in solo full-time house call private practice, which always combined primary care with hospital follow upr for his mostly elderly patients.
His areas of expertise also include primary care, internal medicine, geriatrics, wound healing, hyperbaric medicine, dementia care and end of life palliative and hospice care.
After obtaining his medical degree (1981), Dr. Persidsky spent nine years at the 250 bed geriatric hospital of the Institute of Gerontology in Kiev (a National Institute on Aging of Ukraine and for the former Soviet Union), first as a resident and fellow and later as an attending staff. His other credentials include a Ph.D. equivalent in Cardiology (1987), Assistant/Associate Professorship of Research at the Institute of Gerontology, Visiting Professorship of Social Work at CSU in Long Beach, voluntary Faculty at USC School of Medicine. He is still actively involved in research related to age and aging.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
In 1981 Dr. Persidsky graduated with Honors National Medical University in Kiev, Ukraine, and did his postgraduate trainig at the Research Hospital of the Institute of Gerontology in Kiev, Ukraine as a resident in Internal Medicine (1981-1983) and fellow in Internal Medicine and Cardiology (1983-1986). He also obtained additional postgraduate training as a resident in Internal Medicine at LAC USC Medical Center in Los Angeles California (1993-1996). Dr. Persidsky is Board certified in Internal Medicne in the USA since 1996.
