Dr. Tangoren himself is good, but it was impossible to get records faxed after I moved. Get a copy of your records yourself in person if you have to switch doctors!

I was having an unusual skin problem. I saw another dermatologist for over a year without a diagnosis. Someone suggested Dr Tangoren and he diagnosed Panniculitis right away. The office staff are very professional and friendly. He is very personable and friendly. I feel he really cares about me.

Dr. Tangoren used not only his outstanding medical knowledge, but also a gut feeling he had that may have saved my fiancee's life, literally. The doctor saw him for his annual checkup, looked at a growth that had been present for years, and thought it looked okay. He debated as to whether to call my fiancee back into the office, but he followed his intuition and called him back in. Great call it was. The growth had turned into malignant melanoma. The doctor is also kind and charismatic.

I started seeing Tangoren when he had an office in Ithaca many years ago and then he closed the Ithaca office and I began traveling to Syracuse to see him, once/year and then twice/year. Tangoren himself is very good but his office staff is incompetent and rude. Last time I visited I waited two hours to see him and then was finally offered the opportunity to reschedule. I wrote Tangoren a letter asking for an explanation and he never bothered to respond. He does not care about his patients.

I do not recommend this office. I am appalled at how I was treated by the office staff. They were dishonest, unprofessional, unwilling to listen to me as a patient I highly recommend you do not pay your copay in cash. I did pay cash and had a receipt to prove so. Because the provider was running almost an hour behind schedule, I was told my copay would be credited to my account for my next visit. At my next visit they claimed I received a refund. Obviously a staff member pocketed my money.
