Follow up after consult review: I had my surgery Dec 17th, 2019. I have had nothing but a positive outcome after surgery. Dr Johnson, his PA, and all staff are the most competent, caring, and thorough I have ever dealt with. Thank you for fixing me, and making the process as easy as possible. I’m forever grateful.

Dr. Johnson was very caring and thorough. He described very accurately the procedure he recommended and then allow me to choose any surgeon in the area. The results were very successful. And his staff are very attentive and professional.

I was sent to him for a double fusion. This happened...First, he will NOT see you unless you have a huge problem. He sends in a nurse to "screen" you. If you really needs surgery, he will come in. So NO ONE prepared me for the aftermath. I cried 24/7 for a whole month. It was a long PAINFUL recovery. All my followup appts were with different medical assistants. They cannot keep track of your progress because you see someone different each visit!!!So, I started physical therapy and went 2 times, then I put it on hold because another doctor did surgery on my lumbar with a neurostimulator. Now I have recovered & want to resume my therapy.I have called 5 TIMES & they will NOT send a referral. Now the physical therapy place is calling their office.NO RESPONSE.So I was told today, I now need to go in for another visit to get my therapy again.I have nerve damage. My spinal cord was squeezed for 6 months.I need it for my neck and damage to my arms & hands which nerves are damaged. I AM IN PAIN!!!

Dr. Johnson is the worst physician I have ever seen. He performed a laminectomy to reduce back pain but did something wrong and I ended with MRSA originating in the incision. Pain increased after the surgery and he had no idea what to do with the infection or ongoing pain. I talk to a lawyer about filing a malpractice to Dr. Johnson and the hospital. The attorney discouraged from doing that. He is simply not available when there are complications. When he was on-campus and agreed to meet me between surgeries, he never showed up. I have NEVER had this kind of treatment from a physician. I could go on and on with his behavior but I don't think Healthgrades has enough time for that. Bad surgeon and worse surgery.

Excellent Surgeon. Great bedside manner. I had a laminectomy decompression and was very nervous and scared. He put my mind at ease and helped lessen my anxiety. He walked in smiling and joking with me. Felt like I was reuniting with an old friend. Had very little pain from the surgery afterwards, but still waiting to see how much relief I will feel. I recommend him to everyone!!! Best Doctor I've ever seen. Was scheduled for my surgery not long after my initial consult. He's a angel in disguise.

I would highly recommend Dr Johnson to anyone with chronic back pain. Had an SCS implanted and for the first time in over 20 years I was without pain. Due to unforeseen complications, nothing due to Dr Johnson, it had to be removed. At all times Dr Johnson or his staff were always available to me to answer any and all concerns. When it is time to put a new implant in I will insist it be done by Dr Johnson

Dr. Johnson is a top notch surgeon. He fixed my severe neck pain that had been causing me terrible pain for 15 years. I received an Anterior Cervical Fusion of C5-C6. I had very little pain after the surgery, followed medical advice, and the physical therapy regimen, and am sooooo much better than before. I have found Dr. Johnson to be kind, deeply compassionate toward his patients, and highly qualified.

Horrible staff, especially the PA Matthew worst social skills ever, likes to put blame on others, did not try to remedy issue, good luck on getting appointments to see Dr. Johnson. Every time i call he's on vacation. Had back surgery 2 years ago had a fever 2days after and what do you know he's on vacation. No follow up by him or his staff. Year later came back same issue. Dr. Johnson on vacation and was sent to PT and received fat bill. Yesterday had MRI called for apt dr johnson on vacation.
