This content was provided by Dr. Steinman "Dr. Howard Steinman, a leader in the field of Mohs surgery, is joining U.S. Dermatology Partners, serving patients in Grapevine and Sherman, Texas. Dr. Steinman earned his Doctor of Medicine from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of California at San Diego and at St. John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin in London, U.K. He completed his Mohs surgery and dermatological surgery fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After practicing in San Diego for over 25 years, he was Director of Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery at Scott & White Clinic in Temple, Texas. Most recently, he practiced Mohs surgery in Irving, Texas. Dr. Steinman has co-authored two Mohs surgery textbooks, twelve textbook chapters and over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles. He co-directs an annual course in Mohs surgery, frequently lectures in the United States and has lectured in Europe and Australia. He is passionate about patient care and mentoring fellow physicians. “As a skin cancer surgeon and cancer survivor, I know how important it is for every patient to have an informed, personalized, caring, safe and comfortable surgical experience,” says Dr. Steinman. Dr. Steinman specializes in treating basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and more complicated skin cancer cases. “It’s rewarding to guide patients and their families through the often frightening process of skin cancer removal in a reassuring, calming, comfortable, caring manner as possible,” he says. Dr. Steinman enjoys travel, reading science and history, and spending time with his wife and family, including his first grandchild."
