Exceptional. He recently removed the AVM for my husband who had a hemorrhagic stroke. The surgery was done very carefully by his experienced hands. He’s very dedicated and addressing all of our questions. In addition, he’s willing to calm our emotional concerns. Dr. Riina truly has a big heart to help people. His nurse Liz is also amazing. He’s definitely a top doctor with top facilities at NYU Langone. We love Dr Riina !

My family has a history of brain aneurysms. Dr. Riina saved one of my aunt's life. Another aunt had headaches, but her MRI did not reveal an aneurysm. She finally went to see Dr. Riina who wrote an MRA script, which revealed an aneurysm. He operated on her shortly after and saved her life, too! I have started my journey to get checked. I, of course, hope that he does not need to operate on me, but feel comforted to see this doctor and know that I will be in good hands should I need an operation.

Dr. Howard Riina is a very talented and experienced neurosurgeon who recently saved my life. Dr. Riina successfully coiled a growing unruptured aneurysm that probably would have ruptured in the near future, causing me debililitating consequences, or even death. It's amazing how delicate these neuro endo-vascular procedures are when dealing with fragile aneurysms. With these complicated surgical procedures, comes great risk to the patient, and I'm very thankful Dr. Riina was my surgeon. I'm also appreciative NYU Medical Center has the finest, cutting edge neuro-brain surgical technology required for the surgeries. Sometimes we forget how lucky we are to live near NYC, and have access to the finest surgeons, and other doctors in the world !
