Care Philosophy

We work for you, not for your insurance company! We provide personalized medical and surgical care which values the best interests of the patient over and above the interests of insurance companies, HMOs or other third parties. Being non-contracted with insurance companies allows us to place patient care above all other interests. Patients with out-of-network benefits may still receive the benefits of their insurance coverage, without being concerned about who their doctor is truly working for. For the time-being, we are still Medicare providers, but that will change if our government continues to increase the regulatory burden, while at the same time reducing the Medicare patient's access to medical services. Patient care is our priority! www.PacificSpecialists.com

Where our data comes from - The data you see on providers' Healthgrades profiles comes from both the provider and public sources. The Top Care Areas section uses public data from billing claims that providers submit to insurance companies. That data is filed nationwide on behalf of the provider to either the government or a private health insurance company.

How we evaluate our data - Patient volume is analyzed by provider and compared nationally with all providers who perform the same procedure, or treat the same condition. We organize the volume data in percentile ranking from 'may perform' for the lowest claims volume to 'Very High' for the highest claims volume data. For a given condition or procedure, performance categories are defined based on 80%, 90%, and 95% confidence intervals from the average patient volume for all providers in our database. Providers identified as ‘may perform’ do not have sufficient volume for Healthgrades to create a statistical evaluation.

Dr. Krauss was not worth my time. He thinks a lot of himself and tells you. He did not diagnose me properly and I will not be back.

Dr. Krauss is an outstanding ophthalmologist. The first cataract surgery I had, NOT from Dr. Krauss, produced serious complications & it was solely because of who did it. When Dr. Krauss did my second cataract surgery, it was a complete success. His team are extremely professional, caring, & knowledgeable. Dr. Krauss took the time to explain everything & answer any questions I had. I totally trust Dr. Krauss. I can't thank him enough. He is absolutely the BEST.
in Paso Robles, CA |
It's a month after my visit and I am still waiting for my report from Dr. Krauss. I was told his reports typically take 2-3 days. My neurologist usually takes 1-2 weeks, so I was patient for the first few weeks, but now it's a month late, my disability insurance company has stopped my payments because my neurologist was waiting for the report before submitting my forms. This is unacceptable. I've had to ask 4 times and still don't have it.
