Doc not only did not listen, but when I tried to explain or add impt info, he would cut me off. He bristled at questions, and was more interested in proving his superior intelligence than resolving my issue. It was "here's your diagnosis--don't question it, don't question me. You don't need to understand it. Just accept it." Problem is, because he didn't listen, he didn't know what the issue was to be diagnosed. He had already decided it before I saw him. Appt 1 lasted 14 min, appt 2 lasted 5.

Avoid Kawanishi at all cost. During my first visit, he took no medical history, so he had no understanding of what my issues. It was clear he had already decided nothing was wrong. So he sat down and said in a somewhat snarky tone "So why are you here?" as in "there's no reason for you to be here, all your blood tests are normal". I tried to explain it to him, but he cut me off. Follow up after abnormal test results, he continued to mock me. He still didn't even know what the issue was.

Treated my dad as a pair of kidneys. He had a post cardiac issue and he was completely indifferent to dads panic attacks. Got a new nephro and had hemat in charge and dad got better exponentially faster. Decent dr, crap bedside.

My husband was in End Stage Renal disease for many years. Dr.Kawanishi kept him off dialysis for several years by prescribing the correct medications that helped to delay his going on to dialysis. He helped him decide whether or not to have a kidney transplant. He also helped to understand the various types of dialysis and once he had to do dialysis, he was always there for support. Through all of his efforts, Dr. Kawanishi helped us live as normal a life as possible. Thank You!!!
