Dr. Vats is very attentive to his patients; listening to their concerns and anxieties and helping to educate them about kidney disease and its implications so together, a concrete plan to manage the disease can be developed. He works with the patients' primary care providers to ensure a well-rounded care plan for his patients is established. Dr. Vats has a special interest in dialysis vascular access and works to help his dialysis patients maintain their access with timely interventions so they benefit from the most effective dialysis treatments. Working closely with the dialysis nurses ensures his patients receive the best care possible. His goal is to promote home dialysis treatments including home peritoneal and hemodialysis. He enjoys working with students and residents and believes education is the best way to spread the knowledge about effectively managing kidney disease. Dr. Vats resides in Leawood, Kansas with his wife and two daughters.
As a Nephrologist, I believe that my patients deserve the best care with an integrated approach to their medical problems and to correct underlying problems that lead to kidney disorders, early diagnosis of kidney disease, timely and appropriate care and education and involvement of the patient at all steps of their care.
