Patient for over 7 years
I'm 58 and Dr. Penland's office was my safe place. I trusted him with everything in my life for over 7 years. Now I don't know if can ever trust a psychiatrist again. He doesn't take Medicare so I paid $225.00 cash per visit for over 2 years. If I could take back my decision to see him I would. I didn't know he had decided not to see me anymore and the way he went about it was so cruel. He didn't tell me himself and he absolutly destroyed my character for no reason. When you are trusted by someone who has mental disorders and crush them with things, you destroy so much morethan thier (reputation)?

COULD NOT MAKE APPOINTMENT
I was unable to visit Dr. Penland. Made many calls to set up an appointment and left messages but no one would ever return my calls. Very disappointed. Dr. Penland was my first choice (even though he is not the closest doctor to my home); I made the decision based on reviews of the ones who are his patients. I have no made an appointment with another provider due to the fact no one would return my calls. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL to not return calls!

Dr Penland has been by doctor for 13 years! There was once a time I couldn't even get out of bed to function life but with the right medication Dr Penland prescribed for me I'm able to function a happy healthy life nowadays(AND YOU CAN TOO) . Dr. Penland saved my life and helped me when I was at my lowest and I can't thank him enough!

Waited months to see him then dropped me as a patient one week before my appointment. Now I have no doctor. I needed his help more than I have ever needed help before in my entire life and he does not care. I’m not sure why he’s in this field if he doesn’t want to help people. His staff never answer the phone. I had to drive there, out of my way, to even become a patient

Dr. Penland is BEYOND amazing! I trust him with my life. He really cares about his patients, spending as much time with them as needed. He is highly intelligent, honest, and has a great way of explaining things to the "common man". His staff have always been there for me in times of crisis. I have been seeing him for several years and he's top of the line.

Dr.Penland is the best doctor I’ve ever encountered in my entire life. I have been a patient of his for 8 years. I can honestly say he saved my life. Dr. Penland is ethical , he cares about his patients, isn’t money hungry, has integrity, basically a man who has found his purpose / passion in life and thats helping ppl and saving lives one patient at a time :)

After 2016's Murphy's Law healthwise year, Dr. Penland is the only reason I'm not in a mental ward. I'm seeing him today to make sure 2017's law extension doesn't finish the job! Love this young wonderful doctor!
