Have had severe back pain for almost 6 years. Really bad the last year. Have had to take opoids for years to be able to function. I'm not perfect, and can be very irritable at times. This Dr. and I were not able to come to a working relationship. He seemed very aloof and totally uninterested...more

I appreciate a dr. who will tell it like it is. In 3 weeks I went from severe pain, through testing and am now recovering from a very successful surgery and now have zero pain.

Dr. Hess has absolutely no bed side manner! When you choose a doctor to of any kind expect them to make you feel comfortable and very educated. After my surgery was completed he didn't even talk with my family. My family was very upset that he gave them no update didn't even tell them how the...more

I'm sorry that you felt my interaction, or lack thereof, was not comforting. After completing a surgery, I ALWAYS go to the waiting area to find any loved ones there. Typically they are given a pager by the surgery waiting area staff and I ask the staff to page the family to speak with them. If a family has gone out of range of the pager, I am not able to find them to give them a status update. I am very sorry that I didn't talk with them. My apologies. Sincerely, Harold Hess, MD
