This guy is a poor example of a mental health care provider. I don't care how many years he's been practicing he doesn't carry the banner well for the VA Mental Healthcare System . He does not listen to the patient's needs and will cut you short on conversation... I'm talking about telephone conversations, which for me has been 5 in the past 14 months. They were most unproductive, unfocused and pathetic. He calls at his discretion irrespective of my designed day/time scheduled by the VA. He has changed medications that my primary care physician prescribed without consent by either myself or PC provider. I would not under any circumstances give this guy a favorable recommendation. I intend to peruse my concerns with both the State and Federal levels.

The negative posts definitely sound like him. He’s at the VA at bay pines now and is very condescending, changes meds without care or concern for the patient, doesn’t communicate with either the veteran or the caregivers, lies consistently, and threatened that if I didn’t take a certain medication (and he would check my blood) that he would take me off of the ones that work. Harbir Sekhon should be fired from the VA!!

I saw this doctor at an inpatient center. He screwed me over so badly. He never spent more than 2 minutes with me. Every day he said I could leave the next day and then never followed through, causing turmoil and trauma to my husband and kids. He threatened me in order to force his meds on me, when they were not helping and most certainly hurting me. This man was a nightmare and should be subjected to the same torture he inflicts on his patients.

Dr. Sekhon, off the bat, was mistrustful and condescending. He was unable to listen to my concerns and instead asked irrelevant questions such as "what type of work does your boyfriend do". He proceeded to change medication that I have been managing successfully for past 3 years while calling me an "addict". Please continue searching for a doctor if your interested in really getting better.
