Not a competent colorectal surgeon
After being referred to Dr. Baradi following a colonoscopy showing I had a small mass in my colon, I was met by a doctor who gave me the option of taking out my entire colon and living with a bag for the rest of my life, doing chemo and radiation, and/or getting a second opinion. I got the 2nd opinion. I had stage one colon cancer. We were able to take out part of my colon, no bag needed and no chemo or radiation was needed either. This was my 2nd bout with colon cancer and my surgeon who did my first surgery in 2007, out of state, was able to save my life one more time. It meant going back to Austin and working with a specialist in Colorectal Cancer and working with a doctor who was willing to help me have a better quality of life versus a doctor who was not.

Went to schedule resection surgery. He said it’s not recommended by “recent medical guidelines”. Would not go back to him.

My recent visit did not go well. I was there for like a minute and the only thing he did was to send me with the scheduler. I could have done this over the phone. I did not need to pay $50 for this. I drove 15 miles just to meet with someone else just to schedule the procedure prior to my surgery. On my first visit I asked him if I was going to need any kind of testing before my colon reconnection and he said "No". Today, I found out that I do need a test and the next availability for the sigmoidoscopy is until the end of December, seven week from today. He could have scheduled this three month ago with me and I did not have to wait another two months for my surgery. Very disappointing.

Please before you go to this doctor. Read both sides! Please! I won't go into details about my experience but if I can save someone's their dignity, emotional and physical well-being from being compromised I will. That is the only reason that I am making this post. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way how little power the patient has and how much power physicians have whenever it comes to your rights to info about your own medical knowledge and making decisions about your own body, especially whenever you are put to sleep without your knowledge that you would even be. Then have a procedure performed that you were told nothing about. I have been emotionally and physically scarred and I feel powerless. So just make sure that you know exactly what is being done to you and report anything that seems amiss because everyone with MD behind their name doesn't always lead to equal and adequate treatment. I have read many of the comment and I wish that I could say that I had a good experi

Dr. Baradi was on time. very professional, and offered helpful diagnosis. I would recommend him, but also hope for more sharing of information as he sharpens his bedside manner. I will go to him again for sure, but with a precise list of prepared questions to ask him while he is in the room with me. His nurse or clerical attendant was delightful and helpful. A very good experience.

Dr. Baradi is a very good Dr. and his staff is the friendliest I have ever experienced . I had surgery 1 week ago and still have to get stitches out . My only problem was not with him or his staff but with Babtist hospital . I had the worst experience in my life. With all this that we are all going through now days and I had the worst nurses ever! I was able to get an appointment quickly. He and his staff were great and seemed very caring about me and my health. They were patient and spent time answering my questions and made sure I felt comfortable calling them if I had more questions. Leaps and bounds better care then I received at other provider’s offices.
