I was referred to Dr. Van Stavern because of a fixed dialated pupil. From start to finish my experience was good. Dr. Van Stavern took his time with my examination and took his time explaining his diagnosis to me. He was very friendly and very thorough and very encouraging.

Dr. Van Stavern is very knowledgeable, and listened to all my questions and concerns that I had about my Intracranial Hypertension. He took the time to explain what was going on, and sent me for some testing the same day. I was able to see him again that day for the results. By seeing him, I found out my other doctor I was seeing had me on meds that were causing me more headaches. He is truly an amazing doctor. His staff is amazing too when I call in with concerns about headaches.

I was shuffled between 3 doctors before I was referred to Dr Van Stavern. I am so pleased that I ended up in his office. I was taken back earlier than my actual appointment time and was very impressed with how productive my appt was. His entire staff was wonderful, very kind and professional. They even stayed late to run an extra test on me so I didn't have to drive another 2 hours another day just to have it done. He told me he would call me later that evening with results and he did.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Van Stavern and was not sure what to expect based on past reviews. Dr. Van Stavern did in fact take time to talk with me regarding my specific issues.....helping me to better understand the possibilities. He had unplanned test performed to help evaluate the issues. He didn't just listen to me, but talked to me as well. He has a plan to better evaluate the situation. Thank You

Dr. Van Stavern had a horrible bed side manner. He was downright rude and arrogant. He may be knowledgable in his field but I would not recommend him. Horrible experience.

I saw him for pseudotumor cerebri after not receiving the answers from previous doctors whose solution to my illness was surgery. I am thankful I went to him because surgery was not required and the illness resolved as he said it would. He was able to answer all questions that I had and explain unanswered questions and misinformation that I had from a previous doctor.

I came to Dr. Van Stavern for a second opinion about migraine headaches and his response was I don't really know why you are here. His office approved me for a procedure, yet I didn't want to travel to his office or see him again. 3 months later, I am still having problems with an error that his office has made with the insurance.
