I do research. I got results. Go to him.
I was in 11 out of 10 pain. It happened to be leg pain but the source of the problem was a herniated disk in my back (S3/S2) that caused a nerve impingement that manifested the pain in my leg. I woke up from the "back" surgery and my excruciating leg pain was gone. Just dealt with the surgical pain for the next couple of weeks, then I was good. Within 2 months, I was back at the gym (though on a lighter regimen), and now, 6 months later, I am back at my lifting weight levels where I was prior to any issues. Dr. Schroeder 'fixed me' for lack of a better phrase. I'm back to enjoying life, exercise and good health. Go to him if you have these problems. I research doctors all the time and he lived up to his internet reputation of a solid and results-oriented orthopedist.

Dr Schroeder was very cordial and very easy to talk to. He was informative and answered my husband and my questions thoroughly as well. He didn't make you feel that he was rushing you out the door. My cervical fusion of level 6-7 went well on May 6, 2022. I had severe cervical foraminal stenosis which I needed a neck fusion. This is my second fusion. Dr Schroeder did not do my first fusion, but I felt confident that I selected the Orthopedic Surgeon qualified for this surgery. I am still having some residual tingling in my fingers, but that is expected due to the healing process which can take up to a year. Overall my most pressing symptoms have left.

Great Experience
Last year I was suffering severe leg pain. The source of the pain was determined to be compression of the nerve root in the L4L5 region. Dr. Schroeder evaluated my situation and suggested that spinal surgery could provide relief, but that I should try injections and PT first. Followed his recommendations… no relief, so in December I had surgery to decompress the nerve root. Dr. Schroeder performed the procedure on an outpatient basis. The entire process was five stars. I have been pain free since the surgery. Note that I did not have any structural work required which increased the probability of a successful result. I have had three follow up visits… everything is good. I returned to normal activities within 60 days of surgery. Really like and trust Dr. Schroeder… straightforward, informative, pleasant. Have recommended him to several friends without any hesitation.

Best spinal surgeon ever
Dr Schroeder is the greatest. I would recommend him to anyone who has a problem with their spine. He fixed a mistake another surgeon had made and made it possible for me to walk again without being in constant agony. His bedside manner is fantastic as well.

He was very professional and answered all my questions. This was my second surgery and I had a much better and improved outcome then I did with the first surgery by a different surgeon. I felt very confident in Dr. Schroeder’s surgical skills prior to surgery and even more so after my surgery. I would highly recommend him and his team . They were helpful before and after surgery to attend to any of my needs- like questions, needed prescriptions, physical therapy, postoperative needs, etc. He is a 5 star surgeon!

In short, Dr. Schroeder completely changed my life. I'm a relatively young, healthy male, who's suffered from nasty neck pain since 2012. I'd been in and out of PT with limited relief, and something "flipped" in January of 2021...and the pain became completely unsustainable, along with (new) consistent numbness and pins and needles in my left arm/hand. I saw Dr. Schroeder, who performed a 3-level ACDF. I experienced immediate relief of symptoms upon waking from anesthesia. I'm now five months out, and completely pain-free. By month three, I was lifting weights, stationary biking, and doing basically everything that had been immensely painful for nearly a decade. I strongly suggest him. He's got great bedside manner, talks to you like a human being, and explains everything in as much detail as you need. Upon hearing that he would be my surgeon, everyone I spoke with leading up to surgery (prep docs, cardiac clearance doc, etc.) commented that he's an exceptional surgeon, and I agree.

Dr. Gregory Schroeder was recommended to me by a well known Neurosurgeon as the surgeon he recommended who could address the spinal issues that I have. His very excellent care has provided me with a thorough understanding of my conditions . He was able to remove hardware and rebuild my lower spine to to add other fusions. He has a great bedside manner and takes his time to explain the conditions in question. I have full confidence in his continuing care!
