He is a good doctor but the wait time is terrible. I had to cancel my last appointment after waiting over an hour past my scheduled appointment time. They don't seem to respect the fact that their patients also have schedules and may need to get to work. Whatever time they allow for appointments needs to be extended by 10-15 minutes for each appointment.

After being without an internist for a number of years, I am literally giddy that I've found another internist that I believe will take care of my health needs. He was very friendly, professional, understanding and explanatory with each issue we discussed. Even though this was my first visit with Dr. Riggs, I felt the urge to do this survey for anyone looking for an internist in the Lafayette area.

I called to establish as a new patient and was told he could see me in June. I was calling in April. When asked about the next day or same day appointment which is advertised I was told he's really booked up. Then them stated that need to be changed. She then offered to put me on a cancellation list.

The only thing about my experience with Dr. Riggs that I am unhappy about is my waiting time. I sat in the waiting room, which does NOT have comfortable chairs for handicapped people, for OVER AN HOUR!!!! No explanation was given, nothing was said by the staff to let me know WHY I was waiting for over an hour. Whoever schedules appointments needs to do a better job of staggering patients OR (if there was an emergency), the office staff should communicate more with the patients.

Waste of time. He just told me things that I could have looked on WebMD.com for. Really didn't put any effort into me getting better. Basically told me to take meds. Wasn't thorough. Seemed more as if he wanted to hurry up with my appointment.
