One of the worst doctors I've ever had. Would barely give me eye contact,I would tell him about New migraine symptoms and he was very dismissive,he would continue to pump me with drugs but never considered MRI's or CAT scans nor an alternative to treatment for my migraines. I felt as if because of my race, creed or insurance was the reason he wasn't attentive in my treatment. He had a very nonchalant attitude towards my migraines and that's not how I want to be treated when I see a SPECIALIST.

Dr. Cooper says...

I have been practicing Neurology for over 25 years. I have specialized, fellowship training in epilepsy, related seizure disorders and EEG interpretation but I have practiced General Neurology my entire career. Therefore I have experience in diagnosis and management of most neurological disorders. More recently, my practice has been limited to the evaluation, management and care of outpatient neurological patients. I see patients in the University of Virginia Adult Neurology Clinics and the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. If needed, my patients are referred to the University of Virginia Medical Center for care by the Inpatient Neurology Team. I was Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1989 and Board Certified in EEG by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology in 1989.

Dr. Cooper says...

I completed Fellowship training in Epilepsy and EEG in 1989 at the University of Virginia and have been reading and interpreting EEGs ever since. After completing my training, I went into private practice and was the Director of EEG at a community hospital in the suburbs of Philadelphia where I was the primary EEG reader. I read EEGs on a daily basis, reading on average 1000 EEGs annually. In 2012, I left private practice and joined the Neurology faculty at the University of Virginia, where I continue to read and interpret EEGs, as well as supervise and instruct Neurology residents and EEG fellows in EEG interpretation.
