I was seeing Dr Ballard for chronic knee pain. One of my biggest complaints was that Dr Ballard didn't seem interested in anything I had to say about my knee and didn't really do much of an exam. So we did all of the injections over several months and the pain continued. I kept telling him it felt like something was torn and would catch then cause a lot of pain. Finally he agreed to an MRI which identified a small tear. In the surgery he found a small tear and a very large tare. After the surgery I had a lot of pain... I did everything I was supposed to and then some. I made several appointments with Dr Ballard he kept telling me more time, maybe injections etc.. he even seemed to be frustrated and short with me. 10 months later and the pain was so bad I couldn't hardly walk any more so I went to St. Luke's for another opinion. The did an MRI immediately, put in a hinged brace and told me to stay off of it. There is so much damage now that I'm getting a knee replacement

Dr. Ballard is personable and upbeat. He listens with great care, examines the physical problem area and asks questions to narrow down the medical issue. He offers hie recommendations starting with the least aggressive treatments and asks for patient input throughout the visit. Each time he has given me his whole attention and never gives the impression that he’s in a hurry to see the next patient.
