Great listener. Understood what I was telling him about my foot. Knew what he needed to do to fix it. Wanted to see me directly instead of just his staff. Made me feel well cared for.

Dr. Alvin saved my foot that was crushed in a car accident 15 years ago. The first two foot specialists said it needed to be amputated, there was too much nerve damage to save the foot. Thankfully someone recommended Dr. Alvin. He was kind to my family (I was still in a coma during the surgeries) and also to me, very encouraging through the recovery process. I was walking again within a few months, and you know it's an effective surgery when the foot is still going strong 15 years later! Big thanks to a skilled surgeon (and plenty of prayer :)) for this one.

Dr Alvine helped me walk again, without pain at the end. He did tell me honestly that I would have pain and recovery rules were to be followed. He never rushed me, he is a perfectionist, we did x rays over so he could see more clearly, he explained everything. When I go to see him once or twice a year he has reviewed my chart and is up to date. And he gives the best cortisone injections! Thank You Dr. Alvine

Dr. Alvine has performed 2 surgeries on me. He is very kind and thorough in his explanation of the procedure and what to expect. He also provided me with options for my most recent procedure. It was good to hear and understand what the outcome would be with each choice. The procedure was scheduled very timely and I had an excellent experience with the Sioux Falls Speciality Hospital and with Dr. Alvine.

I was having a lot of pain in the back of my leg near my foot and thought that it was the Achilles tendon, but after seeing Dr. Alvine he diagnoised it as Posterior Tibial Tendonitis and had me fitted for shoe inserts which I am still waiting on, should hopefully be here in the next week or so. He was very through and he explained why they didn't like to give cortisone shots in that area. I am hoping for relief once the inserts arrive.

I have seen Dr. Alvine several times over the paast 20 plus years for my lower back pain and also for an ankle issue. I had previous gone to another orthopedic office and the Dr. there didn't help me, Dr Alvine identified the problem with my ankle and set up a plan to correct it. With my ongoing lower back over the years Dr Alvine has worked with me on alternative measures to relieve the pain , never quick to do surgery unless it is necessary and going to benifit the patient .
