Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Vagner "Your hands are complex, made up of many small bones called carpals, metacarpals, and phalanges. The two bones of the lower arm, the radius and ulna, meet at the hand to form the wrist. The median and ulnar nerves are responsible for the movement of, as well as strength and sensation in, the hand. In addition, many flexor and extensor tendons cross the wrist and hand, serving to move the wrist and digits. As for the elbow, it is more than a hinge joint; the steady use of the hands rests on stable, painless elbow joints. Whether you suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome, broken bones, arthritis, or trigger finger, the hand, wrist, and elbow surgery expert at Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin, Dr. Gregg Vagner, is prepared to diagnose, treat, and cure your condition."

Dr. Vagner has treated both me and my husband for various hand issues. After suffering with De Quervain tendonitis for over a year under the care of another hand specialist, I went to Dr. Vagner as a last resort (Should have gone there first.) He took less then 5 minutes to diagnose, and treat it...more

I've been going to Dr. Vagner for about 8 years. He has performed 3 surgeries on my hands and in each case it fixed my problem. He always has time to talk to me about what my problem is and gives me the option to choose, if there is more than one solution, what I want to do. I have total trust...more

He seemed too busy to actually sit down with me. He was always in and out of the exam room in a quick amount of time.

The billing staff is very rude! They overcharged me and I have to wait for my refund for over a month. When I asked why it takes over a month to post my refund back to my credit card they said well that's just our process. Dr. Vagner was ok. When I asked him what the cause of my problem was he...more
