My experience was that Dr. Horton provided minimal communication throughout the process. He failed to explain that he only planned to shave my bunion rather than realign my big toe and to straighten my second toe resulting in the need for a follow up surgery to straighten another toe that started crossing over post-surgery. Almost two years later and my bunion has grown back and the area is still very painful. With Dr. Horton’s mostly very high or very low ratings, something seems wrong. Maybe his low ratings are related to procedures he does infrequently.

Dr. Horton communicates as little as possible. In my 1st appt he spoke only to his posse and left with no explanation to me of his plans for my ankle. I didn't see him again until after surgery 4 months later. I was not aware until the bandage-change that he had operated on my FOOT, not my ankle. Only then did he notify me that the process would involve 2 surgeries, not one- double the expense and recovery time, a huge shock. I was furious- not at the necessary process but at not being informed.

Dr. Horton is a genius ! This is why his office is full and you may need to wait a while. Small price to pay for a job done right the first time. I had a triple arthodesis and an anterior tendon lengthening performed on me by this highly skilled physician. I am 5 weeks post-op and healing beautifully. I am so thankful I decided to deal with the slight inconvenience of traveling down to Kansas City from Omaha, Ne for my procedure.
