In making an appointment be prepared to be on hold for at least 15 minutes and if you are transferred then be prepared for another 15-20 minutes. I brought my sister to see Dr. Halko and she needed surgery. When my sister asked questions about possible alternatives, he sighed, rolled his eyes and said that if you doubt my evaluation, you're free to get a second opinion then he stood up and left. The entire appointment was less than 5 minutes. She is now at SSM Health and couldn't be happier.

Halko did not repair an amputation “revision amputation”– HE amputated part of my finger and never explained that was what he was doing. He treated my family and me as if we were invisible – he did not talk to my family or me before, during, or after surgery. After my surgery, he just walked out. The medical staff was outstanding but the surgery center was AWFUL. All patients are prepped for surgery and recover from surgery, sitting 2 feet apart from each other, being cared for by one nurse.

Dr Halko was very professional and did a grest job with my Husband. He explained everything he was going to do and the out come of the surgery. We were very happy with the care. His staff was always nice and helpful. He made sure my husband was taken care of. He worked him into the surgery schedule to get him taken care of quickly after a work injury that required immediate surgery.

Dr. Halko said there were a variety of ways that could have been done to save my fingers but he never discussed those options with me. When I asked why he said that it is the doctor's job to make those decisions. He felt it was better for me to find out my fingers were gone when my bandages came off. Doctors work for patients!

DR. HALKO IS AMAZING! Very attentive, listens, and spends the time with you. I went to him after another doctor messed my finger up badly and even though Dr. Halko was unable to save it you can't even tell! He has done a couple of surgeries for me and all have been great. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. HALKO!

He seemed compassionate and sincere but when I said I wanted a second opinion from a doctor outside of their network he got upset and suggested I talk to his colleague for a second opinion. I am seeing an orthopedic hand surgeon at OU and couldn't be happier.

Dr Halko did not seem to know from visit to visit what was wrong, and would contradict himself and tell me something different at each visit. I spent 4 years going to him with absolutely no relief and still am not sure exactly what is wrong. When I questioned him last visit he became rude and seemed angry that I would question him. I spent a lot of money for him to do absolutely nothing. I also question what he charges to do nothing. I would never refer him to anyone.

Dr. Halko had a sense of urgency about my condition my GP seemed to lack. I probably have that to thank for still having my thumb. I can't say enough good things about his knowledge and skill, staff, the ease it was to have an MRI, surgery and follow up appointments. I saw something on here about his bedside manner which made me leery - I found that to be completely false. He put me at ease, he made me laugh, he answered my husband's questions and his staff went beyond the call of duty for us.
