Dr. Betrus grew up in metropolitan Detroit. He obtained his undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University prior to attending medical school at Wayne State University. He chose the field of urology due to the wide variety of medical and surgical conditions he would treat. After completing his urology residency at Wayne State University in 1993, he joined Urology Associates of Port Huron, now Comprehensive Urology.
Dr. Betrus is on staff at McLaren Port Huron, Lake Huron Medical Center, and Lakeshore Surgery Center. He has served on numerous committees at all 3 institutions, and is currently a McLaren Port Huron Board Member. Dr. Betrus treats a wide range of urologic disorders. His particular areas of interest include the treatment of urologic cancers, kidney stones, and BPH.
Dr. Betrus is married and has 3 children. His interests include boating, fishing, traveling, and tennis. He is an avid sports fan and is active in the community.
