A native of India, Dr. Chintalapudi (Dr. Chin) completed medical school at Kurnool Medical School in Southern India. After moving to the United States in 1994, he completed a neurology residency at the State University of New York – Stony Brook where he was nominated as doctor of the year by patients. After becoming board certified in neurology in 1998, he continued to pursue an interest in sleep medicine in which he also became board certified. Soon after concluding his training, he was appointed medical director for a sleep center and invited to become a clinical instructor at Indiana University at Purdue. Since 2000, Dr. Chin has lived in North Carolina. He was the director of the sleep medicine programs at Siler City Community College from 2006-2010 and at Sandhills Community College from 2008–2010. In fact, Dr. Chintalapudi is one of the few physicians in North Carolina, board certification in sleep medicine. He is also board certified in Neuromuscular Disease and General Neurology by the American Board of American Specialties. He has been with Sandhills Neurologists since it's inception in 2000. Together with Dr. Tellez, Sandhills Neurologists is proud to offer cutting-edge treatments for patients with migraine headaches and an electromyography (EMG) clinic for increased access to nerve conduction studies.
