As a neurologist, listening to my patients is extremely important. It is the first of many steps in making the right diagnosis. The brain and nerves have incredible neuroplasticity. All people especially when in time of illness, deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. My goal is to help my patients improve their quality of life.
Dr. Link, grew up in the US studied abroad after graduating from High School in MI.She obtained her PhD Degree in Neuroimmunology. She was awarded a Scholarship to study medicine, where she completed her MD Degree from the Aristotelian University, while performing neuropathology research and attending externships in Denmark, Israel and the U.S. Her training in neurology was finalized in the US and Sweden.She has three subspecialties, after completing full fellowships. Dr. Link, has been licensed in the US and the ECU. She's had professional teaching appointments and has worked in academic institutions as well as, in the private sector.Her research Experience is in Clinical Neuroimmunology and Molecular Neurobiologyusing Techniques: In situ hybridization for mRNA detection of Cytokines.and in Neuropathology studying Neurotransmitter influences on neuronal cultures with immunohistochemistry and Electron Microscopy. She has published multiple research papers and her original thesis on Multiple Sclerosis and Myasthenia Gravis in 1994. Titled:"IFN-y, IL-4, TGF-B mRNA expression in MS & MG".Some of her awards and recognitions include:Best medical student ECE teacher and was elected as mentor to the female medical studentsShe was given the Outstanding Service Award, was professional of the year representing Neurology in Cambridge Who's Who. awarded for excellence in service toward earning stroke hospital magnet designationreceived Outstanding Service Award"Doctor of Excellence" by The Leading Physicians of the World.Voted as Most Compassionate Physician by patients;Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of valuable contribution to skills for patients;awarded certification by the American Board of National American Society of Neurorehabilitation and is a Disability Analyst and Fellow,Some of her academic and professional activities include giving lectures to medical staff, on Coma, Disorders of Consciousness, Delirium, Seizures, Headaches, Alzheimer's disease, Cognitive and Gait disorders, Inflammation in Neurological diseases including Cytokines in MS, in AD, in TBI., and in CVA. She has helped students and residents with their board exams.Dr. Link, was invited and has given multiple lectures to the Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, AD Stroke and TBI support groups and has appeared on radio and TV .She has chaired in medical committees as the Risk Management, Med. School Admissions,Peer review, Ethics committee Physicians well being, Quality improvement council and other hospital staff committees.Dr. Link took time off to write her non-medical book called "One" A guide to enlightenment.Her book considered an Inspirational Guide to Living, Offers a New Pathway in Life G. J. Link, MD, PhD., is a world-renowned neurologist with subspecialties in neuropsychiatry from Harvard, neurorehabilitation from Cornell, and neuroimmunology from the Karolinska Institute. She noticed that consulting with patients regarding living a more spiritual life, frequently resulted in improving the symptoms of their disease.
