Prior to joining the Bon Secours Neuroscience Center for Pain Management, Gerry N. Smith, MD, served as a member of the consulting staffs of Mary Immaculate Hospital, Riverside Regional Medical Center, and Hampton Roads Specialty Hospital in Newport News, Va., as well as the medical staff of Riverside Rehabilitation Institute.
Gerry N. Smith, MD, received his bachelor of science degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Smith completed a residency in internal medicine at Jewish Hospital, also in Cincinnati, and a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Virginia Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
