After finishing his four-year active duty tour with the United States Air Force in 1996, he completed a fellowship in the subspecialty of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center. He is board certified in both Diagnostic Radiology and Vascular/Interventional Radiology.His areas of clinical interest and research include aortic stent-grafts, carotid and renal stenting, varicose veins, liver and biliary interventions, portal hypertension, uterine fibroids, cancer therapy, and genitourinary interventions.Dr. Rivera-Sanfeliz is an active member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, the Puerto Rico Urological Society, the Cuban Imaging Society and the Veracruz Imaging Society."
