Years ago, Dr. Y. Did a repair on my left knee that left me crippled. He did an "experimental" surgery that went horribly wrong and of course failed to admit he screwed up. He grew some of my own cartilage in a lab and then transplanted it back into my knee and it was an epic failure. Thirteen years later, I'm still disabled. He was arrogant and failed to admit a mistake because he wanted to succeed in the new surgery technique. That way he could earn more money for a new procedure.

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
