It came as a total surprise to me that I had a substantial mass hanging from my liver and needed surgery to remove it. Dr. Younan not only took the time to explain everything about the mass and the surgery to me; he extended amazing professional courtesy to discuss every aspect of my surgery and recovery with my son, a urologist in another city. I cannot say enough good about his professional surgical expertise and demeanor. I highly recommend him.

I felt VERY well cared for by the office staff, the nurses, and Dr. Younan. I was seen quickly, my issues were taken seriously and the plan was clearly explained to me. Dr. Younan acted with urgency to get me the tests I needed to be able to get to the point of the necessary surgery, and when it was time for surgery, the office gave me clear instructions on how to prepare and Dr. Younan explained to me again before surgery what was going to happen. When I came out of surgery, the nurses and office gave me clear instructions for self care and made my 2 week appointment for followup. During followup Dr. Younan did a superior job of explaining the outcome of the surgery (pathology), and steps from here. A truly A+ experience, from beginning to end! Thank you!!

Frank, Clear, Caring, & Highly Competent Surgeon
I have been seeing Dr. Younan for over 3 years, as a referral from my Oncologist. The internal pain I felt was professionally evaluated, managed and correctly diagnosed by Dr. Younan. He worked with me to identify the cause, seriousness, and next steps in relieving the abdominal pain. After the recommended tests and monitoring, he diagnosed that my Gallbladder was not functioning as it should. I then had my Gallbladder removed by Dr. Younan and I am now pain-free! Dr. Younan advised me of possible complications, possible new pain elsewhere becoming apparent, and other possible impacts of having my Gallbladder removed. During my Gallbladder surgery, he saw something on my liver and biopsied the tissue to make certain, I was OK. I am very happy to say I am 100% OK! Dr. Younan is a trusted Surgeon that I gladly recommend to others to first be good patients, communicate clearly your concerns and questions, and then listen to and follow his response for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Thanks to a Wonderful Surgeon!
If you are looking for a knowledgeable, caring, doctor with whom you can absolutely trust your health, you have just found him! I went to Dr. Younan when I couldn't make my mind about a surgery. He looked at all my radiology images, described what is going on, and explained what the risks of postponing the surgery are. That day when I left his office, I finally had peace of mind about having found the right surgeon. I had my surgery at Reston hospital about 2 weeks ago. The surgery was a success and all the pathology results confirmed Dr. Younan's rationale for doing this surgery as soon as possible. He is a wonderful doctor and an expert in his field. I should also mention that I had a great experience with Dr. Younan's office staff and Reston hospital.

First Class in every respect
I have been a patient of Dr. Younan's for only a few months, but I can honestly say that I am VERY IMPRESSED by him and his staff. I say this for several reasons: 1) he takes the time to listen to my inputs and concerns, 2) he provides clear and easy to understand answers to my questions, 3) he takes the time to look at the "whole picture" of my overall health and not just the scope of his specialty and 4) when the recent snow storm hit the Washington, DC area, he took the time to call me at home on the weekend (twice) to arrange for a new day and time for my surgery. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Younan and believe he goes "the extra mile" for his patients.

Ever since I met Dr. George Younan on March 16th 2021 with a diagnosed of Pancreatic Cancer; Looking my Kaiser paperwork he was not satisfied while coming back home called me back and conducted the CT scan on same day immediately and took the decision and in the evening he called me that I had pancreatic cancer and conduct the surgery that is whipple which was successful on August 9th 2021. Excellent, marvelous, magnificent doctor to be with and deal with. I recommend him as a whipple expert. God bless him and his family who raised him well to help the mankind. There is small quote "only the actions of the just smell sweet and blossom in the dust." So once again I am very much magnanimously thankful to Dr. Younan and his staff that they dealt with this crazy hyper Indian guy. I apologize if I did say any unrespectable words to the doctor and staff, please forgive me.

My gastroenterologist found a small cancerous tumor in my stomach. I was then referred to Dr. Younan for a surgical consult. Dr. Younan explained in detail what the surgery was going to entail and what to expect during the recovery process. He knew prior to my appointment the urgency and had already scheduled my surgery. The care that he provided through out the process was excellent. His bedside manor was extremely comforting. I highly recommend Dr. Younan, there aren't enough words to express my gratitude for all his help.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Younan and his whole team. My mom was diagnosed with stage III pancreatic cancer last November 2020. Dr. Younan saw us through her whole care, helped us find an oncologist and was a blessing from the Lord above. Just when my Mom felt like giving up on chemo, he pushed her through it. My Mom is recovering from the surgery she had with Dr. Younan last month. It was a lengthy surgery and we were updated throughout the whole procedure. His physician assistant, Kaila, called me everyday to update me on my Moms recovery while she was in the hospital. There are no words to describe what a caring, wonderful, compassionate doctor George Younan is and I would highly, without a doubt, recommend him to anyone in need of his services. He goes above and beyond and you can rest assured you are in the best of best hands. We are not sure yet of the next steps of care for my Mom but I am forever grateful our paths crossed with Dr. Younan.

A lesion on the pancreas, terrifying news to my wife and I! On our first meeting with Dr. Younan we found a confident and caring doctor. He worked with us to come up with a concise forward thinking plan to treat our diagnosis. We never felt rushed and he took whatever time needed to answer all our questions and continued to ask if we had any additional thoughts or concerns. We left his office totally confident and reassured that we were in the best hands. The operation was flawless and far better than we ever expected. Dr. Younan visited every day in the hospital and again took whatever time necessary to speak with us and answer our questions. Once home, his PA called every day to monitor my progress and give advise on any concerns. We couldn't recommend him more highly. In addition to his surgical skills, his caring and attentiveness meant just as much to us during this difficult time. He was the BEST!!

Upon my first office visit with Dr. Younan, he made every effort to create a good working doctor-patient relationship . His excellent communication skills, during pre-surgery and post -surgery consultations, as well as his caring and attentive manner towards me, were outstanding. His clinical competence and skills performing the difficult Whipple Procedure surgery are among the best in the regional area. Dr. Younan has the unique ability to make the patients stay in the hospital more comfortable. During the entire process, Dr. Younan always took time to explain medical conditions and treatments that were easy for me to understand. Both Dr. Younan and Dr. Shaver make a strong team together to meet all the medical needs of any patient.

After meeting Dr. Younan prior to my surgery, I was completely confident in his knowledge of the situation I was in. He explained in detail what the procedure would entail, answered all of my questions in a clear and precise way. Throughout my hospital stay, he came by each day and ensured me that I was progressing at the speed that was expected for the Whipple Procedure. After discharge, follow-up office visits were handled in the same manner, as he would take the time to sit, listen and discuss any problems I had. Dr. Younan has a calm and professional demeanor, along with an excellent sense of humor. His daily concern for my well-being and comfort ensured me that I was receiving excellent care.

Dr. Younan did my liver ablation and removed my gallbladder. He is such a great surgeon and doctor. He explains things well, everything he can about what is going on and makes sure all my questions were answered. He is honest with me and tells me what I need to know not necessarily what is "wanted" to be heard. For example, I wanted to get my surgery done sooner but he was honest in saying it's just not a safe option and we have to wait. Trust me when I say, he knows what is best. He is kind and funny. He even dealt with me and my mom asking a lot of questions. He let my mom video conference when I went in for an appt because she had a lot of concerns but lives out of state. He is professional but he put me at ease and made me felt cared about, too. If I have more problems in his field, I will absoluetly go to him for help and will recommend him to people in need.

If you’re looking for a pancreas, spleen, or gallbladder surgeon, look no further. We are fortunate to have a pancreas specialist of Dr. George Younan’s caliber in Northern Virginia. I consulted with Dr. Younan after hearing that I had a cyst on my pancreas. Dr. Younan said the cyst was precancerous and recommended a distal pancreatectomy and gallbladder removal. I got several opinions, including from John’s Hopkins, all agreeing with Dr. Younan. From the day we met him, my family and I felt I was in the best hands. Dr. Younan is a talented surgeon but is warm and personable too. My surgery was performed by Dr. Younan and Dr. Shaver who, along with their wonderful Physician Assistant, Danielle Eganhouse, visited me every morning in the hospital and patiently answered my questions. This was my first major surgery and I had a lot of concerns, each put to rest with Dr. Younan and his team’s excellent advice. I can’t thank him enough for the wonderful care and peace of mind he’s given me.

I am truly grateful for having been cared for by Dr Younan and Danielle Eganhouse. I had a large pre-cancerous cyst on my pancreas shortly after having a baby. The news was overwhelming to me and my family, but in researching Dr Younan I did not even feel the need to get a second opinion. He has been vetted over and over by patients and peers. I was very impressed by his knowledge, bed-side manner, and true concern for me as a patient. Both Dr Younan and Danielle made me feel I could call them or text them at any time and ask any questions I needed. That in itself made me feel reassured. I thank them for giving me such good care. The surgery was a success, there was plenty of follow-up, and less than a month after the surgery I felt great. My new family really depended on it.

Dr. Younan removed my gallbladder and helped me with several related problems. Because of his care I feel drastically better now than when I first met him. He is both empathetic and great at explaining things. He was willing to answer all my questions and I left each appointment knowing exactly what was next and why. He really knows his stuff and enjoys what he does. He also did a great job keeping me safe having a surgery during Covid (including having a majority of appointments via Zoom). If you need surgery on your gallbladder, liver, or pancreas, I highly recommend him!
