We approach your pregnancy with enthusiasm. We understand the joys as well as the challenges that pregnancy brings. With a genuine reverence to the natural process of birth, we strive to balance the best of modern medicine with the wisdom of unhurried care. Informed by the experience delivering countless babies, we are aware of the uniqueness of each patient and family. We recognize your autonomy as the most important principle and strive for honest communication as the best way to build mutual trust. We recognize the physical, psychological, social, and even economic impact that pregnancy can have on our patients. We believe that sensitivity and the highest clinical standards in collaboration with other outstanding practitioners is the way to nurture the complex opportunities that new life brings. The guiding posts of our practice are respect, quality and safety. We are thrilled and honored to be your doctors and are proud of our unyielding commitment to outstanding medicine and compassionate unhurried care.
Dr. George Mussalli has extensive experience in both hands-on daily care and administrative medicine. He is the former Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the beloved St. Vincent's Hospital in Greenwich Village. Prior to St. Vincent's, he served as Chief of Obstetrics at North Central Bronx Hospital/Jacobi Medical Center. As Dr. Worth tells patients "Village Ob is incredibly blessed to have Dr. Mussalli. He is a true rarity – a kind, sensitive, and brilliant high-risk pregnancy doctor who loves to deliver babies and take care of patients day and night." In the Bronx he oversaw the pregnancy of thousands of women in a community with overwhelming rates of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and preterm birth. Dr. Mussalli did his subspecialty training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and is board certified in maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. A father of four, Dr. Mussalli understands the joys and heartaches of parenthood from both sides of the white coat.
