Broke My Heart
I have been struggling for three years with severe tailbone pain. After seeing another doctor, I was referred to Dr. Lance at Dartmouth Pain and Spine. I had tried everything, and I couldn't function without agony. After waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time, I was able to meet with Dr. Lance. He looked at my chart, gave me some options, and told me we would figure this out. I was so hopeful. I spent the next two weeks trying to get an MRI because I couldn't get him to respond to my phone calls or emails. With MRI finally in hand, I paid $40 and waited 60 minutes to hand the DVD to his assistant who wouldn't answer any of my questions and said she needed to talk to Dr. Lance; I would hear from them in 5 days. 9 days later, after an email and three phone calls, I got a call from a nurse who told me "sorry, can't help you maybe attempt physical therapy, again." I am so despondent over the lack of care and just basic respect. Clinics like this shouldn't be allowed to practice.

Amazing team
Dr Lantz and Rebecca Gallant, APRN were very patient, thorough and explained things so that we could easily understand the diagnosis and the plan. I would HIGHLY recommend either for pain management.

I was referred to Dr. Lantz because of a long standing condition with my back. This was my first visit to Dr. Lantz and he listened carefully to me as I explained my concerns. Although Dr. Lantz talked quickly, he often stopped to ask if I had any questions. He explained everything as he went along. I am hopeful that his treatment plan for me will work, but if it doesn't, he has other ideas for my treatment. I am confident in his skill for my care.

Thorough...
I can only assume if you're reading this you're looking for or have seen Dr. Lantz. In my experience - As always DH is prompt with your appointment and I was ushered in at the appropriate time. With that said I waited for 30mins (was not happy) but only after DR. Lantz left I understood. The man took our 45mins to explain... as well as allow me to communicate my thoughts & concerns. I feel the outcome was a decision; not just his recommendation. If you're someone that wants the facts and guidance on a solution, this is someone that will get you there.

Explained condition and findings thoroughly. Made recommendations and respected my decision not to have epidural steroid injection at this time as pain is not intolerable. Reviewed MRIs and spine models which made things easier to understand. I would highly recommend Dr. Lantz to anyone dealing with pain.

Truly care for his patient
I was there for the back pain I was having due to nerve having no space in one area of back bone. The doctor listened carefully and explain the options I have before I can schedule for a surgery. Luckily I am able to consult with a surgeon referred by Doctor Lantz earlier than we initially thought. I was grateful for that as my back pain getting worse lately and with the long period time you would normally have to wait. I would definitely recommend Doctor Lantz but be prepared for the long wait!

I am very glad I met Dr Lantz. I have had 2 back procedures & was considering an implant neurostimulator. He reviewed my records & tested my reflexes. Dr. Lantz gave me a positive opinion that having the implant would be a good option for me. I am really thankful to have had a second opinion. I would highly recommend Dr. Lantz & his office for pain management for the spine.

Dr Lantz was professional and took a brief history but when examining my husband, William Burns (DOB 1/28/1956), he had him on the exam table seated with his heavy winter vest, a wool sweater, flannel shirt and scarf on. A few muscle strength tests and a few pokes and prods asking about pain and that was it. I got the sense early on that his pain clinic is very focused interventional injections and that was not the intent of the referral. My husband has muscular dystrophy with significant muscle pain and perhaps this was a poor referral but I will address this with the referring provider (Jesse Wood, PA). The 6 month wait could have been avoided with better communication and explanation of the VERY limited pain alternative treatments your clinic has to offer. I come from experience as a member of a pain team including Physiatry, Intervenional Anesthesioly, accupuncturist, MSW, PT, and OT. Was very disappointed in your clinic and lack of the alternative txs we were looking for.

I saw Dr Lantz for a consult. He provided me with a detailed explanation of my back pain by showing problem areas on my spine. He was very thorough and discussed the pros and cons of another follow-on approach. He recommended I see a Neurosurgeon for a consult before I anything beyond my current treatment. He made sure I thoroughly understood what he was saying to me.
