I was referred to Dr. Halow by my PCP due to what was described as an urgent matter. Yes the wait time is very long (at least 2.5 hours) the office is very small and yes it really seems that the office staff over books 99% of the time. Dr. Halow curses about the insurance companies he deals with and has no problem telling you about his viewpoints on abortion as well as prayer. He assured me the colonoscopy was not a big deal and felt sure it was nothing to be worried about due to my age and overall good health. He was wrong on all counts. He would not do the followup for the cancer he did not anticipate/ diagnose and referred me to another gastroenterology doctor. Avoid this DR if at all possible.

Yes average wait time is 2 hrs. He is very patient/ kind. The recent problem I had was that dr. Halow wrote contradictory billing codes for colonoscopy on his reports to an endoscopy center, and he and his office didn't fix it despite me calling, emails, in person visit. 4 months later, they ignore me. Owe hundreds to endoscopy ctr. whereas if the dr. had entered right "screening" code on post-op report, it would have had been covered by insurance ; feel betrayed, never going back!

I took my mother to see the Dr. I was told up front to expect a long wait. Of course, who expects to wait over two hours? It is obvious they stack appointments so deep that they wait is super long. I was speaking to some of the other patients, and it was not their first visit. They told me that they always waited at least 2 hours. Mom had another appointment scheduled 3 1/2 hours later. We ended up leaving because there was no way we were going to see anyone before we had to be at the other.

First off, Dr. Hallows is a very kind man. At your appointment he definitely seems genuinely caring. The reason why I will not be going back or recommending him is regarding his scheduling. I've now been to see him 3 times; at every single appointment I spent no less than 3 hrs in his tiny office. There were multiple people in the waiting room for the exact time slot I was scheduled for. No amount of kindness during the appointment can make up for the complete disrespect for me and my time.
