My father was seen by Dr. Atia and was very pleased by his manorialism and professional expertise. We would recommend Dr. Atia to anyone looking for a Gastroenterologist. I'd like to Thank Dr. Atia and his staff for making my father's visit as painless and pleasurable as possible.

Happy to be canceling with this doctor as I've never experienced more of a dreadful experience. Dr. George Atia is nice, which is why I gave him 2 stars. However, I've had the last straw with him and this office. I've had an appointment scheduled for a MONTH now, even an email confirmation from them saying 4:15. However, without being notified that they changed my time, this office tried sneaking by me resending my appt time for 3:15. Disappointed.

Greta, in the billing department of the Chicago office has been great working to resolve a billing issue that I prematurely posted a comment about. Thank you.

This was my worst experience with a doctor... This doctor is UN-human, doesn't see you, doesn't want to talk, answer, explain, etc. Looks like money is the only concern. Almost impossible to make an appointment -- answering machine is always on with a promise to call back "during 24 (!) hours". I called many times -- no one did. I did my test 3 weeks ago -- not a single word from him... Please, find somebody else. Likelihood of recommending Dr. Atia to family and friends - ZERO.

If you want to be on a human assembly line then this is your place. Dr. Atia maximizes the number of people he sees by having a PA do the majority of the patient interaction. If you ever meet him at all he might say one sentence to you. He concentrates on doing procedures. Actually gives you WRONG information about your illness. I have GERD and related things about which Dr. Atia has contradicted WEBMD and the Mayo Clininc. Don't trust your health to him. Get a 2nd opinion if you have.

Can't reach a live person to schedule appointment. I had to call the Barrington office 5 times to schedule/reschedule an appointment. 3 of the 5 call attempts I reached a voicemail between the hours of 9 am - 5 pm. It seems the office staff time is more important than my own. Try calling the next doctor on your list and save yourself some frustration.
