George Alexiades, MD, FACS is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology and is the Director of the Cochlear Implant Center at the Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Alexiades is an Otologist/Neurotolgist who specializes in diseases of the ear and is board-certified in Otolaryngology and Neurotology. Otology encompasses the treatment of diseases of the ear such as hearing loss, tinnitus, cholesteatoma, otosclerosis and chronic ear infections. Neurotology encompasses the treatment of diseases of the ear which relate to the skull base, such as acoustic neuromas, meningiomas and glomus tumors. Dr. Alexiades has published extensively in the field of otology and neurotology in peer-reviewed journals as well as authoring many chapters in Otolaryngology texts. He received his Bachelors of Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton and graduated from the New York University School of Medicine where he received his MD. He then completed his residency training in Otolaryngology, followed by a Neurotology Fellowship at the New York University Medical Center.
