Dr. Aguiar did my robotic assisted total knee replacement in September 2019. I have had no problems in the 23 months since. It was a laprascopic surgery but because Dr. Aguiar this procedure he was able to pre-plan the surgery. I felt much better going into it knowing he had time to view and plan the procedure before the surgery date.

Dr. Agular has been my families ortho. Dr. for over 20 years. He replaced my knee, both of my wife's knees and helped my children with their injuries. His service was excellent and I hope he continues to practice for many years.

I first consulted with Dr. Aguiar in April of 2016 for knee pain. He recommended trying exercises, physical therapy and a shot. My knee was bone on bone and he recommended possibly doing a partial Knee replacement. Exercises and PT has helped me tremendously. He said "Surgery is not the first option." I liked that. He was very patient, professional and caring.

I have not been able to walk around the block for the last 3 years due to bone-on-bone arthritis in my knee. Dr. Aguiar performed a knee replacement at 7:30 am and I was home by 10:30 am with no issues, able to walk into my home up two steps no problem. I am now at 6 weeks. I am able to walk around the block, exercise on a stationary bike and get the exercise I was lacking. I am now planning to explore Yellowstone for a week this summer. My new knee feels just like my original - it can do all those fine twists and turns. Dr. Aguiar and his team worked a miracle. I am thankful to have found Dr. Aguiar and his team. From my perspective, I invested a few weeks of physical therapy for years ahead of being able to participate in life again. Thank you to Dr. Aguiar and his incredible team. They were just wonderful to work with.

This was my second robotic knee replacement by Dr. Aguiar. Had been told it would be different from the first one 3 months prior which had excellent results. And the difference was that the healing on my second knee was even faster! I'm extremely pleased with Dr. Aguiar's work and the excellent follow-up provided by the office staff. I'm looking forward to 2021 with no knee pain and able to travel and do anything I want. Thanks, Dr. Aguiar!

An intelligent doctor with a warm, relaxed manner who explained my condition well and is closely connected to highly credentialed and effective referral physicians and physical therapists. I had a frozen shoulder with a calcium deposit. Dr. Aguiar immediately diagnosed the problem, referred me to a great specialist, who was able to see me immediately to excise a calcium deposit which had formed in my shoulder. I then was able to start physical therapy, also right away, with a very kind and effective therapist. Dr. Aguiar’s office runs very smoothly. I was PROMPTLY SEEN at all my appointments, and all follow up questions I had with the staff were answered very quickly. My recovery has been relatively swift, and I am glad to have the range of motion back in my arm.

Excellent Doctor, warm, friendly, ON-TIME, caring, great surgeon. Dr Aguiar performed both knee and shoulder surgery on me, good results. Treating me now for shoulder injury on other surgery. Doesn't push you into surgery, back in 2013, I had torn meniscus right knee, that showed fraying indicating older injury.....Dr Aguiar did not recommend surgery, we tried cortisone and swelling/pain went away. Left knee not so lucky, meniscus tear, surgery, no pain since 2014. Saw him July 2019 for shoulder pain, asked me how I was doing, said not so good, he treated my shoulder/injection, then asked me "what's up". Told him my dog had just passed and devastated me, Dr Aguiar got up, shut the exam room door, pulled up a chair, and said, "tell me all about it"......just so caring and nothing but warmth. This totally SUMS UP Dr Aguiar!!!

My wife was admitted post op and ended up with an extended stay due to high amounts of pain. Over the weekend, as docs cover for each other, Dr. Aguiar had rounds. He spent extra time addressing our questions and concerns and followed up several times over the weekend to see how things were going. We really appreciated his high level of care and genuine concern Which to me means even more as she wasn’t even his direct patient.

I needed a total knee replacement. I was looking for a doctor that used the robotic arm and specialized in knees only. Dr. Aguiar fit the bill. I work in the fitness industry where he is known for stellar work with better than average results. Prior to the surgery, I met with his PA who gave me a list of “To Do” items , explained everything on the list and gave contacts and phone numbers where to get everything done ( pre op appt, bloodwork, CT scan, post surgery PT...) It made things almost stress free. The day of surgery went well with no hiccups. They clearly have a very efficient system. I am 3 months out and almost perfect! I would definitely recommend Dr Aguiar, his team, the robotic arm and Reston Hospital. It was a great experience as far as surgeries go. God forbid, I need another knee replacement on the other knee, Dr. Aguiar would be my only choice.
