I had a revision knee replacement with Dr. Westrich after the implant used in my original knee replacement with another doctor became loose. The second surgery went so much better. Dr. Westrich and the Hospital for Special Surgery have pain control down to a science. When I went home the day after surgery, I only took over-the-counter acetaminophen! Physical therapy went great, and I went back to work in two weeks.

No one looks forward to having surgery, but I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Westrich and the Hospital for Special Surgery. My hip replacement went very smoothly, and best of all, my pain is gone. I highly recommend Dr. Westrich and the hospital.

I waited 3 months just to get a call for an appointment that would take place 4 weeks from then for a total hip replacement. I had to schedule surgery so the extremely rude staff person told me she canceled my appointment. She was hostile, lacking in compassion. This is the wrong line of work for her! Meanwhile, according to her Westrich gives no 2nd opinion. A shame. I will share my story on social media.

Dr. Westrich is a hero in my books. I was needing a very complex hip revision that several orthopedic surgeons showed much concern, a dire outcome and not much confidence in the procedure. Dr. Westrich showed immense intelligence, confidence in his skill, and shuffled patients to fit me into his scheduled surgeries. In the short time he even made a 3D model of my hip socket. This was to be sure the new components would fit perfectly. I'm blessed to have found him.

My experience with Dr. Westrich is based on a left THR in July 2016 and a left TKR in May 2017. Both are forgotten events, as I am unaware they are not my original parts. Now my aches and pains are from my original right hip and knee! Oh well, if I decide to do one or both right joints, there is no question that Dr. Westrich will do the surgery!

Dr Westrich exudes competence, and his work on my hip attests to it. Now months after my surgery my total hip replacement is so solid that I forget that it once was troublesome at all. As a reflection of the high level of professionalism of his practice, I found his staff to be congenial, knowledgeable and exceptionally efficient, affording me superior assistance with the least fuss, including extending extra benefits when available. My thanks to all for a very positive experience.

I had a total knee replacement with Dr. Westrich at HSS on Feb 25, 2016. I was extremely pleased with the entire experience from the hospital staff to the room that I was given. I saw the sunrise from my window every morning which was good for my mind. The Dr was very patient and informative and welcomed questions. 9 weeks after my knee replacement I went to Italy and enjoyed having no pain. I know that my other knee will need to be replaced yet I have no reservations about doing it.

I waited 2 months for an appointment and drove 3 hours one way. The place suggested online to stay the NEw York Presbyterian Guest house was hard to find and not particularly clean. It was also very expensive for one night. Date given for surgery was 2 months later. So having been diagnosed in November of 2016, I contacted HSS immediately and surgery was March. No thanks.

Dr. Westrich is an excellent surgeon. 6 weeks after my surgery, there is no pain in my right knee and it is healing strong. I am already walking with authority. Dr. Westrich has excellent bedside manners and answered all my questions concerning this surgery. His support staff handled all my scheduling and paperwork promptly and professionally. I recommend him without hesitation for total knee replacement surgery.

He has rigid rules and will not see a patient if not all requirements are met. I had a painful torn meniscus, had my MRI, even the disc but because my rheumatologist's did not give me my X-ray even though I asked, twice, saying the doctor will not need it since I have an MRI, Dr Westrich refused to examine me. Also, husband office staff is rude, unhelpful and unprofessional.
