Background Check

1 Malpractice Claim
  • Settlement : 11/14/2014
    Amount or Range: $25,000.00
Nature of Complaint: On 11/4/2010 the insured performed an uncomplicated right knee anterior cruciate reconstruction surgery on this 24 year-old female as treatment for a full thickness tear of the anterior cruciate ligament. Post-operatively she developed a cyst at the incision site and was scheduled for surgical intervention. However the patient failed to follow-up with the insured. She subsequently underwent an I&D by another provider in July 2012 after developing an abscess. Three days later she presented to the ED where a 4 cm metal wire had migrated from her knee.
